PCAOB Talks Tough on Audit Issues

While it may be wonky by nature, the PCAOB has adopted a more aggressive posture under the leadership of Erica Williams. Since becoming chair in January, Williams has heeded the call of Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Gary Gensler for more urgency in updating auditing standards. Meanwhile, she cites beefing up audit inspections and tougher enforcement as her other top priorities.
